The Jank Shank
Pikal aims to pay homage to an iconic shape and the history behind it!
Utilized for centuries, and produced by hundreds of makers, the Pikal
blade traces its roots back to The Philippines as an agricultural and
working knife. The word ‘Pikal’ can be translated ‘to rip’ and due to
its shape, that may be obvious.
This limited batch of Pikal blades features the exact same handle
profile and ergonomics as our current Jank Shank. The razor-sharp
straight edge of the blade has been flipped upside down for a simple
solution to a reverse edge. The high saber grind leaves the blade with a
full-face bevel, which further lightens the weight of the overall
knife.
Thumb jimping is added to both the front and rear of the spine of the
blade for reference points when manipulating the knife. We finished the
handle with our redesigned scale patterns for better retention and grip
in the most demanding environments.
Each Jank Shank Pikal is made right here in San Diego, by our skilled
and talented manufacturing team and comes with a reverse KYDEX® sheath.
